Iron Sucrose Injection USP is a sterile injectable form of ionic iron for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia primarily in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), or those who cannot tolerate or absorb oral iron supplements. Iron Sucrose is injectable and, therefore, an efficient way to replenish iron stores. It is generally administered under healthcare supervision.

How Does it work?

Iron Sucrose provides elemental iron to the body, which is necessary for the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells. Each iron molecule, once injected, binds with transferrin, which is a blood protein responsible for delivering iron to the marrow where red blood cells are generated.
