Uses: Rifaximin is used to treat traveler’s diarrhea that is caused by a bacteria called Escherichia coli. It is also used to prevent hepatic encephalopathy, which is a condition that occurs when your liver does not work normally. This medicine is also used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea.
Rifaximin 400mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that has proven effective against infections of the gut; such as traveler’s diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), and hepatic encephalopathy. Rifaximin stops the growth of harmful gut bacteria while sparing the beneficial bacteria, so it has less side effects than other antibiotics. Because Rifaximin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream, it has localized effects in the gut and is an ideal treatment for localized gastrointestinal problems.
