Composition – Cefoperazone 1000mg + Sulbactam 500mg Injection
Cefoperazone works by preventing bacterial cell wall synthesis. This leads to the destruction of susceptible bacteria. Sulbactam itself has limited antibacterial activity. But it plays a role in preventing beta-lactamase enzymes. These are produced by a certain bacterium. Cefoperazone can otherwise be inactive because of the enzymes. Together, you get broad spectrum coverage. It would work against gram positive and gram negative organisms.Β
