Desvenlafaxine Extended Release Tablets 100mg – This is a prescription medicine that is used in adults to treat major depressive disorder (MDD). It is an antidepressant that belongs to the class of medicines called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), as it increases certain naturally occurring chemicals in the brain that affect mood and emotional state.
Desvenlafaxine works in the brain to assist in increasing serotonin and norepinephrine levels. These are neurotransmitters that play a significant role in mood, sleep, and emotional response. By limiting or preventing their reabsorption (reuptake) of serotonin and norepinephrine into nerve cells, Desvenlafaxine is able to enhance mood, decrease anxiety, and put the mind and body in a healthy balance.
