Drotaverine Hydrochloride & Mefanamic Acid Tablets – Drotaverine Hydrochloride & Mefenamic Acid Tablets are a combination product that relieves pain and spasms, specifically menstrual cramps, intestinal colic, and muscle spasms. Drotaverine hydrochloride is a spasmolytic, and mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). This combination product provides effective and rapid relief.

How Does Drotaverine Hydrochloride & Mefanamic Acid Tablets Work?

Drotaverine Hydrochloride is a selective smooth muscle relaxant. Drotaverine relaxes smooth muscle by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase-4, thus relaxing smooth muscle. Relaxes the spasm of the stomach, intestines, urinary tract, and/or uterus.

Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves pain by reducing inflammation. Mefenamic Acid relieves inflammation and pain by inhibiting prostaglandins (prostaglandins are responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever).

Drotaverine Hydrochloride & Mefenamic Acid relieve spasmodic pain while also relieving inflammation. This combination is effective in conditions with pain in the abdominal and pelvic area.

Uses of Drotaverine Hydrochloride & Mefanamic Acid Tablets

• Menstrual (dysmenorrhea) pain
• Abdominal cramps
• Renal colic and biliary colic
• Gastrointestinal spasms

Administration

Take the tablet by mouth with a glass of water, ideally after a meal to reduce gastric irritation. The usual dose is 1 tablet two to three times every day, or as prescribed by your physician. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
