Zioglim-M4 – This medication is a combination of Metformin Hydrochloride & Glimepiride and belongs to a class of medications called anti-diabetic drugs. This medication is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Especially for those patients whose blood sugar levels are not controlled by diet and exercise alone. Type 2 diabetes affects the way our body uses glucose and is a chronic (long-lasting) disorder. These diabetic patients do not produce enough insulin, or the insulin produced is unable to perform its function in the body.

Precautions of Taking Metformin Hydrochloride & Glimepiride

It is not recommended for use in people with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis (high blood acid), or severe liver or renal impairment.

Alcohol – Consumption of alcohol is not safe while taking this medication.

Pregnancy – Taking this medication may be unsafe to use during pregnancy therefore consult with your doctor before taking this medication. There are limited studies in humans but animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby.

Breastfeeding – This medication is unsafe to use during breastfeeding because a study suggests that this may cause toxicity to the baby.
