Febuxostat Tablets 40mg
Febuxostat Tablets 40mg are used to lower uric acid levels in people with gout. Febuxostat works by reducing the amount of uric acid made by the body. Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitor that is used to lower hyperuricemia (high uric acid in the blood) in patients with gout who have been treated with allopurinol which did not work well. Febuxostat works by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme that is responsible for the synthesis of uric acid. In clinical trials, febuxostat has been shown to be effective in lowering serum uric acid levels to < 6.0 mg/dL. Febuxostat Tablets 40mg should be taken as directed by the doctor. It is important to inform the doctor or pharmacist about all the medications being taken, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements, to avoid any potential drug interactions. Febuxostat Tablets 40mg may cause side effects such as nausea, joint pain, rash, or liver problems. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, it is important to inform the doctor or pharmacist immediately.
