In the Treatment of Seizures
Levetiracetam Syrup is an anticonvulsant (sometimes known as an antiepileptic). It works by delaying the electrical signals in the brain that induce seizures (fits). This medication can be used to treat several types of seizures, including myoclonic, partial-onset, and primary generalized tonic-clonic (or grand mal).
It can also assist in alleviating symptoms including bewilderment, excessive jerking movements, loss of awareness, and fear or anxiety. The medication may allow you to engage in things that you would otherwise be restricted or afraid to undertake (such as swimming and driving).
You can take this medication as advised by your doctor. Take the proper dose and duration as advised by your doctor and check the label of directions before use. Shake the bottle well before use and may be taken with or without food. For getting better outcomes take this medication at a fixed time. Measure the needed amount of medicine in the measuring cup provided with the pack, and eat it promptly.
The dosage will be determined by your condition and response to the medication. Your doctor will recommend the appropriate dosage for you. It is often recommended for long-term treatment. Even if you feel fine, you should continue taking it for the duration prescribed by your doctor. If you stop or miss doses, your seizures may worsen.
This medication also contains some harmful effects that do not require any medical attention and dissolve over time when your body adjusts to the medication. But consult with your doctor if you frequently experience these side effects and if you are worried about them.
Side effects are more likely in the first few weeks and often decrease as your body adjusts to the medication. The majority of these side effects do not require medical treatment, but some might be dangerous. A tiny number of persons using this medication have considered self-harm or suicide. If your mood worsens, contact your doctor.
It is an antiepileptic medication that works by reducing abnormal electrical activities in the brain to help control seizures. This inhibits the aberrant activity of nerve cells in the brain and prevents the spread of electrical signals that cause seizures.
