Telmisartan-amlodipine is a combination medication for treating high blood pressure. This medication contains two first-choice medications for lowering blood pressure: Telmisartan and  Amlodipine.

The first medication is Telmisartan which lowers your blood pressure by blocking a chemical that causes blood vessels to tighten. When this chemical is blocked, blood vessels relax. This lowers your blood pressure.

The second medication is Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It lowers blood pressure by relaxing your heart muscle and blood vessels. Blood vessels get wider when they relax which lowers blood pressure.

• Too much sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting may cause you to feel lightheaded. Report prolonged diarrhea or vomiting to your doctor.
• Tell your doctor about all the products you use before having surgery including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.
• Consult your doctor before taking Potassium supplements as the medicine itself may increase potassium levels.
• Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor’s approval.
