FERROPUSH FCM – This medication contains Ferric Carboxymaltose that is used to treat iron deficiency anemia in adults. This injection is a replacement product that is used to treat anemic patients with non-dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease. Patients who cannot take iron supplements or who are taking iron supplements that do not work properly.
Ferric carboxymaltose injection is also used to treat iron-deficiency anemia and enhance exercise capacity in adults with congestive heart failure (a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body). Ferric carboxymaltose injection belongs to a class of drugs known as iron replacement products. It works by replacing iron stores, allowing the body to produce more red blood cells.
It is an injection that comes as a solution and your doctor injects it into vein for treating iron deficiency in the body. For the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in individuals who cannot tolerate or be treated with oral supplements, or who have chronic kidney disease.
Generally, this medication is given as a total of 2 doses, at least 7 days apart. Ferric carboxymaltose Injection is also given as a single dose in adults.
It is typically administered once every 6 weeks for a maximum of 5 doses to treat iron-deficiency anemia and enhance exercise capacity in patients with congestive heart failure. If your iron levels go low after completing your therapy, your doctor may prescribe this drug again.

Driving – This medication may affect your ability to drive so do not drive after taking this medication. Ferric Carboxymaltose makes you sleepy so avoid driving.
Liver – If you are suffering from liver disease then consult with your doctor before taking this medication.
Kidney – Please consult with your doctor before taking this medication if you are suffering from kidney impairment or have any concerns regarding this.
Children – It is unsafe to use for children, it is not recommended for children below 14 years as safety and effectiveness have not been established.
